PES/IAS Technical Training Seminar  
PES/IAS will be sponsoring a four-part, 12-hour technical training seminar this April. Dates for the three-hour sessions are tentatively scheduled for April 3, 10, 17 & 24.

The seminar will focus on the Transmission System, with topics including:

  • VAR support.
  • Effects of Solar Flares.
  • Planning.
  • Siting.
  • Routing.
  • Utility-RTO Interface & Interaction.

KC Science and Engineering Fair  
The Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair is the area’s largest science fair with more than 1,400 students. The Science fair is designed to inspire/encourage 4th -12th grade students about science and engineering by providing them an opportunity to display their research projects or inventions.

IEEE-KC and PES-KC sponsor multiple special awards for student achievements at the annual Kansas City Science & Engineering Fair.

Volunteers Needed: On Thursday 22nd March morning we need 3 judges plus 2 alternates. On Saturday 24th March morning we need 1 awards presenter plus an alternate. You are probably just chomping at the bit to sign up and help out because you know that's a great opportunity to give back, network with great people, and further develop those soft skills that mean the difference at raise and hiring time....

The 7x24 Exchange is the leading knowledge and networking exchange for those who design, build, use, and maintain mission-critical information infrastructures.
